About us
TrainLive is a live map of trains across Europe. It shows high-speed, intercity, regional and night trains, Eurostar, and the metro in cities such as London, Paris and Berlin.
Live departure and arrival boards for major stations, and the next direct trains on popular routes, are listed on the stations page.
Train positions are worked out from open timetables and live updates published by railway operators, through the Transitous project and Transport for London. Most trains don't share their exact GPS position, so a dot shows where the train should be according to the latest information, not where it is measured to be.

Information only
TrainLive is provided for general information only. Train positions, times, delays, speeds, routes and weather are estimates built from third-party data. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.
No responsibility for data accuracy
We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or availability of the data shown. Always check with the train operator or the station before you travel.
No liability
TrainLive is provided “as is”, without any warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we take no responsibility for any loss, missed connection, cost, damage or inconvenience resulting from the use of TrainLive or from relying on its information. Never use TrainLive for safety-related decisions, and never go onto railway tracks or into railway areas.
Third-party data and services
Data and map content belong to their respective owners and are used under their open licences. We may change, suspend or stop TrainLive at any time.
Privacy
TrainLive has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
Your approximate position
When the map opens, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) tells us the approximate town of your internet connection so the map can start near you. We use it only for that and do not store it.
Your exact location
If you press the location button, your device asks for permission. Your location is used only on your device to centre the map and is never sent to us.
Settings on your device
Your choices, such as the theme and the train types shown, are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device.
Services we load content from
To show the map and data, your browser connects to Cloudflare, OpenFreeMap, Amazon Web Services (relief tiles), Google Fonts, unpkg, Esri, RainViewer and Open-Meteo. These services can see your IP address, as with any website, under their own privacy policies.
